Just prior to 4:00 p.m. on July 13th, Knox County
Deputies were alerted to a possible “rolling domestic” call at Maritime Farms
in Union. According to a witness, while
the victim was at Maritime Farms, she asked the witness to call for help for
her. The witness stated the victim was very
upset and her face was bruised.
The
suspect, later identified as Tyler Vangel, 22, of Lincolnville, got back into the
vehicle and they had left prior to Deputies arriving. Another witness followed the car and reported
its location near the Common in Union.
Sgt. John Palmer arrived and it was quickly determined to arrest Vangel
based on the information provided. Union
Ambulance was called to check on the condition of the obviously abused
victim. Among other injuries, it is
believed she had a fractured nose.
Vangel was charged with 3 violations of Domestic Abuse, Assault,
Criminal Threatening, and Reckless Conduct, all Class D offenses. He was also charged with Violation of
Condition of Release, Class E, and Operating a Motor Vehicle after license
Suspended. Vangel remains in jail at
this time.
