Meet Knox County Lieutenant Patrick Polky!

Sheriff Donna Dennison and Chief Deputy Tim Carroll announce the promotion of Patrick Polky of St. George to the rank of Lieutenant as the new Patrol Administrator for the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. Lieutenant Polky started his law enforcement career in Camden in 2000 where he rose to the rank of Sergeant.  He left law enforcement for a short time to further his education before being hired by the Sheriff’s Office in 2014. He was promoted to Patrol Sergeant in 2015. Lieutenant Polky is a Police Instructor in Drug Recognition as an Expert, Advanced Roadside Impairment Detection, Standardized Field Sobriety Testing and Breath Testing Devices. The Patrol Administrator is responsible for the supervision of the operational aspects of patrol services, including specialized patrol services and all related administration, and is responsible for the Office in the absence of the Sheriff and Chief Deputy. Lieutenant Polky also recently retired as a First Sergeant in the National Guard after serving 21 years. The Sheriff and Chief are always grateful for the service of the veterans that are employed at the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Jail.
