The Knox County Sheriff's Office participated in the 2015 Click it or Ticket High Visibility Enforcement Campaign & Increased Seat Belt Enforcement. The goal of this campaign was to encourage and increase the use of occupant protection measures and reduce fatalities and serious injuries due to unrestrained occupants in motor vehicle crashes. The Sheriff's Office was awarded federal grant funds from the Bureau of Highway Safety to reimburse the overtime costs of deputies who were assigned to these designated details. The Click it or Ticket campaign ran from May 18 to May 31. The Sheriff's Department issued more than 100 summonses for seat belt violations.
