Sheriff's Log January 31 - February 6, 2016

The Knox County Sheriff's office received 370 calls for service from January 31 to February 6, 2016. Those calls that are not listed below include agency assists, animal problems, bail and warrant checks, business and residential alarms, business and residential property checks, check-ins, citizen assists, civil disputes, crisis interventions, death investigations, nuisances complaints, court paper service, motor vehicle crashes, police information, suspicious persons and circumstances, traffic hazards, and traffic stops. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

January 31

Following a request for assistance in Thomaston, Deputy Jeremy Joslyn summoned Joshua Ross, 28, of Thomaston, for providing liquor to a minor and Tianna Brancella, 20, of Rockland, for illegal possession of liquor by a minor.

February 01

Following a traffic stop in St. George, Dep. John Hansen summoned Andrew Elwell, 21, of St. George, for criminal speed.

Dep. Scott Redmun, Dep. Arthur Smith and Sgt. Patrick Polky responded to the report of an assault in Friendship. Redmun arrested Christopher Delano, 52, of Friendship, for assault and violation of conditional release.

February 02

Following a bail check, Dep. Nathaniel Jack summoned Stephen Little, 50, of Warren, for violation of conditional release.

Following a traffic stop in Cushing, Hansen summoned Hilarie Benner, 34, of Cushing, for failure to produce evidence of insurance.

Following a check for a wanted person in Warren, Redmun arrested David Beaster, 54, of Warren, on one active arrest warrant.

Following a motor vehicle crash on Vinalhaven, Dep Robert Potter summoned Richard Harwood, 26, of Vinalhaven, for operating without a driver’s license.

February 03

Hansen conducted a traffic detail in Cushing. No summonses or arrests reported.

Following a traffic stop in South Thomaston, Hansen summoned Eric Pray-Rahkonen, 21, of So. Thomaston for speed.

Following a check for a wanted person in Warren, Joslyn arrested Chasity Keizer, 35, of Warren, on two active arrest warrants.

February 04

Following a traffic stop in Union, Jack summoned Adam Doherty, 31, of Camden, for operating after license suspension.

Detective Justin Twitchell responded to a report of a sex offense in Hope. The incident is under investigation.

Lieutenant Reginald Walker responded to a report of a theft in Owls Head. The incident is under investigation.

Jack and Twitchell responded to a report of a sex offense in Cushing. The incident is under investigation.

Det. Dwight Burtis and Jack responded to a report of a domestic assault in Warren. Jack arrested Andrea Bonnette, 70, of Warren, for domestic violence assault.

Following a check for a wanted person in Hope, Dep. Paul Spear arrested James Kingsbury, 38, of Hope, on two active arrest warrants.

Sgt. Matthew Elwell, Spear, Joslyn and Jack responded to a report of a domestic assault in Warren. Joslyn arrested Eliot Boyce, 45, of Warren, for domestic violence assault.

February 05

Following a traffic crash in Owls Head, Smith summoned Howard Leino, 65, of Owls Head, for imprudent speed.

Following a traffic stop in Warren, Joslyn arrested Matthew Dodge, 34, of Jefferson, displaying a fictitious inspection sticker and unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.

February 06

Following a traffic stop in Friendship, Smith summoned Noah Martin, 18, of Thomaston, for failure to display current inspection.

Sgt. John Palmer responded to a report of an assault in Rockland. Palmer summoned Wyatt Chapdelaine for assault.

Dep. Justin Hills conducted a traffic detail on North Haven. No summonses or arrests reported.

Following a traffic stop in Warren, Joslyn summoned Charles Martz, 39, of Searsmont, for inadequate headlights and inadequate license plate lights.

While passing through Rockland, Joslyn observed a fight in progress. Joslyn arrested Thomas Shorey, 37, of Friendship, for violation of probation.
