Sheriff's Log: January 8 - 14, 2017

The Knox County Sheriff's Office received 259 calls for service from January 8th - 14th, 2017. Some of the calls responded to included agency assists, animal problems, bail and warrant checks, business and residential alarms, business and residential property checks, check-ins, citizen assists, civil disputes, court paper service, crash reconstructions, crisis interventions, death investigations, drug evaluations, finger printing, forensic mapping, nuisances complaints, motor vehicle crashes, police information, police K-9 tracks, school visits, sex offender registrations, shellfishing compliance, suspicious persons and circumstances, traffic hazards, and traffic stops. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

Jan 8

Following a suspicious person’s complaint in Cushing, Deputy Jeremy Joslyn arrested Richard Butler, 37, of Rockland, for Terrorizing with a Dangerous Weapon and Furnishing Scheduled Drugs. Dep. Joslyn also arrested Joshua Weaver, 31, of Rockland, for Possession of Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia.

Dep. Scott Redmun responded to the report of a theft in Union, the incident is under investigation.

Jan 9

Dep. Paul Spear responded to the report of a motor vehicle burglary in Rockport, the incident is under investigation.

Dep. Arthur Smith and Sergeant Matthew Elwell responded to the report of a domestic assault in Warren. The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of Deputies. A temporary warrant for Domestic Violence Terrorizing, Aggravated Assault, and Violation of Conditional Release was issued on Lauren Tozier, 44, of Warren.

Jan 10

Following a wanted person’s check in Warren, Dep. Joslyn arrested Lauren Tozier, 44, of Warren, on an Arrest Warrant.

Following a wanted person’s check in Warren, Dep. Alicia Gordon arrested, Amanda Tozier, 33, of Warren, on an Arrest Warrant.

Lieutenant Reginald Walker responded to a report of identity theft in South Thomaston, the incident is under investigation.

Following a wanted person check in Rockland, Dep. Spear arrested William Costigan, 55, of Thomaston, on an Arrest Warrant.

Jan 11

Following a traffic stop in Appleton, Dep. Smith summoned Jessica Hudson, 21, of Bremen, for Failure to Display Valid Inspection.

Following a traffic stop in Union, Dep. Gordon summoned Todd Matson, 39, of Union, for Speeding and Failure to Provide Insurance.

Jan 12

Following a traffic stop in Warren, Dep. Paul Pinkham summoned Christian Kolofsky, 44, of Vinalhaven, for Failure to Display Valid Inspection.

Dep. Smith responded to a report of theft in Owls Head, the incident is under investigation.

Following a wanted person check in Hope, Dep. Joslyn arrested Richard Stanton, 30, of Hope, on an Arrest Warrant.

Following a wanted person check in Rockland, Dep. Gordon arrested Melanie Allen, 42, of Union, on an Arrest Warrant.

Jan 13

Deputies Joslyn, Gordon, and Sgt. Lance Mitchell responded to the report of a domestic assault in Washington. The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of Deputies. A temporary warrant for Domestic Violence Terrorizing, Criminal Threatening, and Aggravated Assault was issued on Brandon Klein, 32, of Washington.

Following a wanted person check in Rockland, Dep. Pinkham arrested Thomas Powell, 25, of Friendship, on an Arrest Warrant.

Following a check for a wanted person in Washington, Dep. Joslyn arrested Brandon Klein, 32, of Washington. Klein was also charged with Violation of Probation.

Following the report of a protection order violation in Cushing, Dep. Spear arrested Jesse Grant, 22, of Cushing, for Violation of Protection from Abuse Order.

Jan 14

Following a traffic stop in Appleton, Dep. Joslyn summoned Philip Pease, 82, of Union, for Operating Without a License.

Following a traffic stop in Rockland, Dep. Redmun summoned Brandon McClure, 19, of Rockland, for Operating Without a License and Failure to Provide Insurance.
