On Saturday, April 25, 2015, the Sheriff's Office, along with several other municipal agencies, conducted the semi-annual "Drug Take Back" event, sponsored by the Maine Sheriff's Association. The Knox County Sheriff's Office collected 197 pounds of unused, unwanted and expired medications. The total of all the medication collected by all of the participating agencies was 570 pounds.
