Sheriff's Log: March 16 - April 2, 2016

The Knox County Sheriff's office received 733 calls for service from March 16 thru April 2, 2016. Those calls that are not listed below include agency assists, animal problems, bail and warrant checks, business and residential alarms, business and residential property checks, check-ins, citizen assists, civil disputes, crisis interventions, death investigations, nuisances complaints, court paper service, motor vehicle crashes, police information, school visits, suspicious persons and circumstances, traffic hazards, and traffic stops. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

March 16

Deputy Nathaniel Jack, Detective Donald Murray, and Sergeant John Palmer responded to the report of a domestic assault in Union. Jack arrested Amy Gray, 48, of Union, for domestic violence assault, criminal speed, driving to endanger, failure to stop for an officer, passing a roadblock, eluding an officer, and operating under the influence.

March 18

Dep. Arthur Smith responded to the report of a burglary in South Thomaston, the incident is under investigation.

Dep. Paul Pinkham responded to the report of a theft in Warren, the incident is under investigation.

Dep. Robert Potter responded to the report of a domestic on Vinalhaven, the incident is under investigation.

Following a traffic stop in Vinalhaven, Potter summoned Joshua Anthony, 35, of Matinicus, for operating after suspension.

Dep. Spear, Smith, Det. Dwight Burtis, Sgt. Matthew Elwell, Sgt. Patrick Polky, Palmer, Lieutenant Reginald Walker, and Chief Deputy Timothy Carroll responded to the report of a fatal traffic crash in Washington, the incident is under investigation.

March 19

Following a warrant check in Rockland, Sgt. Lance Mitchell arrested Jonas Sabins, 32, of Union, on one active warrant.

March 20

Following a traffic stop in Cushing, Elwell summoned Elias Morse, 27, of Cushing, for operator not wearing seatbelt.

Following a traffic stop in Washington, Dep. Scott Redmun summoned Gale Witherell, 67, of Waterville, for speed.

March 21

Following a traffic crash in Warren, Dep. John Hansen summoned Scott Moulton, 30, of Union, for operating after suspension and failure to produce evidence of insurance.

Following a traffic crash in Union, Dep. Justin Hills summoned Hillary Harriman, 37, of Union, for failure to produce evidence of insurance.

Following a traffic crash in Warren, Hansen summoned Dustin Seekins, 25, of Washington, for operating with expired license.

Following a warrant check in Rockland, Redmun arrested Aaron Hornbeck-Fielder, 20, of Portland, on one active arrest warrant.

Following a traffic stop in Rockland, Hills summoned Sarah Roscoe, 26, of Rockland, for operating with expired registration.

Hills responded to the report of protection order violation in Cushing, the incident is under investigation.

Following a traffic stop in Appleton, Hills summoned Craig Holmes, 25, of Union, for operating with expired registration.

Following a traffic stop in Hope, Hills summoned, Robert Swan, 22, of Waldoboro, for failure to display inspection.

Following a warrant check in Appleton, Dep. Jeremy Joslyn arrested Rhiannon Demmons, 18, of Appleton, on one active arrest warrant.

Joslyn responded to the report of a 911 hang-up in Owls Head. Joslyn arrested Michael O’Hara, 36, of Owls Head, for a probation violation.

March 24

Joslyn, Spear, and Mitchell responded to the report of drug activity in St. George. Joslyn arrested Jacob Mondello, 21, of So. Thomaston, for trafficking in schedule “W” drugs, a probation violation, and on one active arrest warrant.

Following a traffic crash in Washington, Spear summoned Richard Weissenberger, 78, of Washington, for operator not wearing seatbelt.

March 25

Following a traffic stop in Appleton, Smith summoned Tonia McLaughlin, 51, of Nobleboro, for speed.
