Sheriff's Log: June 27 - July 4, 2016

The Knox County Sheriff's office received 448 calls for service from June 27 thru July 4, 2016. Some of the calls not listed include agency assists, animal problems, bail and warrant checks, business and residential alarms, business and residential property checks, check-ins, citizen assists, civil disputes, crisis interventions, death investigations, nuisances complaints, court paper service, marine resource inspections, motor vehicle crashes, police information, school visits, suspicious persons and circumstances, traffic hazards, and traffic stops. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

June 27

Deputy Nathaniel Jack responded to the report of a theft in Hope, the incident is under investigation.

Sergeant Lance Mitchell executed a search warrant in Rockport for an ongoing criminal investigation.

Detective Dwight Burtis responded to the report of a domestic assault in Rockland, the incident is under investigation.

Dep. John Hansen conducted speed enforcement throughout the county. Hansen summoned Dustin Seekins (25 of Washington), Wayne Hooper (58 of Rockland), and Megan Linscott (18 of Warren) for speeding.

Deputies Scott Redmun and Arthur Smith conducted a bail check in Rockland. Redmun arrested Jason Fogg (26 of Warren) for violation of conditional release.

June 28

Dep. Paul Pinkham conducted speed enforcement throughout the county. Pinkham summoned Michael Niles (31 of Nobleboro) for speeding. Pinkham also summoned John Myers (27 of Saint George) and Garrett Burridge (23 of Cushing) for failure to display valid certificate of inspection.

Jack and Sgt. John Palmer were involved in a pursuit in Union. Jack obtained a warrant for the arrest of Nicki Winchenbach (32 of Union) for failure to stop for a police officer, driving to endanger, and operating after license suspension.

Following a traffic stop in Union, Jack summoned Debra Ripley (49 of Appleton) for speeding.

June 29

Burtis responded to the report of domestic stalking in Rockland, the incident is under investigation.

Palmer responded to the report of domestic assault in Warren, the incident is under investigation.

Det. Donald Murray executed a search warrant in Rockland for an ongoing criminal investigation.

Following a traffic stop in Union, Jack summoned Hillary Harriman (37 of Union) for operating after license suspension.

Following a check for a wanted person in Warren, Palmer arrested Shawn Brewer (33 of Friendship) on 7 active arrest warrants.

Following a traffic stop in Warren, Dep. Paul Spear summoned Victoria Burns (28 of Searsport) for speeding. Spear also arrested Jason Littlefield (32 of Searsport) on 4 active arrest warrants.

Following a check for a wanted person in Warren, Dep. Jeremy Joslyn arrested Chad Sproul (40 of Warren) on an active arrest warrant.

Following a check for a wanted person in Union, Joslyn arrested Nicki Winchenbach (32 of Union) on Jack’s active arrest warrant from the day prior.

June 30

Following a check for a wanted person on Vinalhaven, Dep. Robert Potter arrested John MacDonald (45 of Vinalhaven) on an active arrest warrant.

Following a traffic crash in Washington, Jack summoned Faith O’Donnell (18 of Parkman) for operating left on curve.

Following a traffic stop in Union, Palmer summoned Ann Bresnahan (65 of Hope) for speeding.

Following a traffic stop in Union, Jack summoned Kevin Secotte (32 of Thomaston) for towing an unregistered semitrailer and failure to display valid certificate of inspection.

Jack conducted speed enforcement throughout the county. Jack summoned Leslie Tranchell (68 of Hope) for speeding and Taylor Crosby (18 of Rockport) for failure to produce evidence of insurance.

Following a traffic stop in St. George, Pinkham summoned Ranilo Cruz (56 of Wiscasset) for slowing improperly.

July 1

Following a traffic stop in Warren, Spear summoned Whitney Lawson (25 of Bremen) for operating after license suspension.

Redmun and Jack conducted drinking and driving enforcement throughout the county. Jack summoned Christopher Tynan (33 of St. George) for operating without a license in violation of restriction and Haley Terrio (20 of Rockport) for unlawful possession of schedule Z drug. Jack also arrested Haley Terrio for operating under the influence of alcohol, operating without a license, driving to endanger, and illegal transportation of liquor by a minor.

Following a traffic stop in Union, Joslyn conducted a bail check and summoned Mark Mason (45 of Union) for violation of conditional release.

July 2

Following a traffic stop in Hope, Spear summoned Jeffrey Christie (20 of Camden), Alec Raso (20 of Rockport), and Samuel Berry (20 of Hope) for illegal possession of liquor by a minor. Spear also summoned Samuel Berry (20 of Hope) for unlawful possession of schedule Z drug and a 17 year old for illegal possession of liquor by a juvenile.

Following a traffic stop in Hope, Joslyn summoned Jasmine Dennis (21 of Rockport) for possession of an open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle on a public way.

Potter responded to the report of property damage on Vinalhaven, the incident is under investigation.

Joslyn conducted speed enforcement throughout the county. Joslyn summoned Sandra Martz (35 of Appleton), Randolph Helmholz (55 of Lincolnville), Stephen Gould (65 of Camden), Dale Pangakis (46 of Appleton), and Thomas Zapsky (53 of Carmel) for speeding. Joslyn also summoned Susan Thompson (60 of Morrill) and Blaine Cook (37 of Appleton) for failure to display valid certificate of inspection; Stephen Hodecker (60 of Meredith, NH) for operator not secured in seatbelt; and Gabrielle Gould (28 of Appleton) for failure to stop at stop sign.

Following a traffic stop in Rockport, Joslyn summoned Jenny Cleary (32 of Readfield) for operating out of season with studded tires.

Spear conducted impaired driving enforcement throughout the county. Spear summoned Jessie Moulton (31 of Rockland) for speeding and Anna Mulhearn (19 of Union) for illegal possession of liquor by a minor.

July 3

Following a traffic stop in Union, Joslyn summoned Brooke Dugan (20 of Thomaston) for illegal possession of liquor by a minor.

Following a traffic stop in Union, Redmun summoned Emma Provost (18 of Middletown, MD) for illegal possession of liquor by a minor.

Redmun conducted speed enforcement throughout the county. Redmun summoned Samuel Woodward (19 of South Portland), Edwin Raye (52 of St. George), Nancy Manning (59 of Owls Head), Kerry Ilvonen (53 of Owls Head), and Jonathan Lussier (18 of Owls Head) for speeding.

Following a traffic stop in Washington, Pinkham summoned Tobya Rounds (34 of Washington) for operating after license suspension and operating an ATV on a public way.

Smith and Sgt. Patrick Polky responded to the report of a structure fire in Appleton, the incident is under investigation.

Hansen responded to a report of threatening in Friendship, the incident is under investigation.

Redmun responded to a reported animal bite in St. George, the incident is under investigation.

July 4

Jack, Smith, Redmun, Polky and Sgt. Matthew Elwell were involved in a pursuit in Appleton. Jack arrested Damian Benner (18 of South Thomaston) for failure to stop for police officer, refusing to submit to arrest, operating after license suspension, exceeding speed limit by 30 MPH or more, operating an ATV to endanger. Jack also summoned Damian Benner for operating an ATV on a public way and operating an unregistered ATV.

Jack conducted speed enforcement throughout the county. Jack summoned Tristan McKittrick (38 of Madison) and Sierra Neilson (26 of Waldoboro) for speeding.

Spear conducted impaired driving enforcement throughout the county. Spear summoned Chandler Breen (25 of Thomaston) for operating out of season with studded tires; Cody Neptune (23 of Washington) for operating with an expired license; and Kevin Norsworthy (24 of Belfast) for speeding.

Smith responded to a report of threatening in Warren, the incident is under investigation.
